Preschool Curriculum

At Gingerbread House I, our preschool curriculum is designed to support every aspect of a child’s development—academically, socially, and emotionally. We offer a dynamic blend of programs that include early literacy and phonics, basic math and science exploration, sign language, foreign language exposure, physical fitness, and lessons in manners and social responsibility.

Using Brightwheel, we keep families informed and engaged with real-time updates, photos, and progress reports, creating a strong home-to-school connection. All enrichment activities are included at no extra cost, providing preschoolers with a rich, well-rounded educational experience. Our goal is to exceed early childhood standards and lay the foundation for lifelong learning, confidence, and success.

Our approach to Preschool education (Ages 3 to 5 years old)

Preschoolers at Gingerbread House I are vibrant, curious, and increasingly independent—potty trained and ready to embrace new challenges. At this pivotal stage of development, children are eager to explore, practice emerging skills, and engage with the world around them. Our classrooms are intentionally designed with stimulating materials and developmentally appropriate learning tools that inspire creativity, critical thinking, and meaningful exploration.

To best support each child’s growth, our preschool program is thoughtfully divided into three distinct classes, organized by age and developmental milestones. This structure allows us to provide targeted instruction and nurturing environments where children can build independence, develop strong social-emotional skills, and thrive among peers who share similar learning stages.

Foundation of Our Toddler Program

Critical Thinking

At Gingerbread House I, we believe that every child is a natural problem-solver. Our Critical Thinking Program encourages children to ask questions, explore possibilities, and think independently. Through hands-on activities, open-ended challenges, and guided discovery, we nurture curiosity and reasoning skills. By building confidence in their ability to analyze and solve problems, children develop the foundation for lifelong learning and thoughtful decision-making—skills that will serve them well in every stage of life.

Manners and Philanthropy

As our philanthropic mascots, Ginny the Gingerbread Man, reminds us: “It’s not about how big or small you are—it’s the size of your heart that truly matters.” At Gingerbread House I, our Manners and Philanthropy Programs are thoughtfully integrated to instill values of kindness, respect, and compassion. Through everyday interactions and community-focused activities, we nurture a spirit of generosity and empathy, laying the foundation for responsible citizenship and a lifelong desire to do good.

Physical Fitness Programs

Gingerbread House I makes physical fitness an important part of education, teaching our children healthy habits that will last a lifetime. Starting at the Toddler age, children are learning to move their bodies, as well as to keep their bodies and minds healthy by starting to identify healthy choices.
